  1. Hi Thomas, I have just sent a friendship request on FB. We are from Czech republic and have been in Bratislava training. We heve been impressed by your experiences and ideas. We are in situation, that we have shot a science fiction crazy movie on bluescreen last year with almost no budget – our friends acted for free, also the crew. It is edited, and our friend makes the 3D animation now. We tried to get the money for finishing – sound, rendering of 3D, Arri laser copying etc. in “ordinary” way – culture fund of czech rep., culture fund of EU, but we failed. Now we are working on a T-shirts idea, we got from you. But, there is the question: do you have any experience with not english speaking projects? Because there is only 10milions of czech speaking people, and only percentage is on the FB, for example. How to get more funs? I am afraid, that we (meaning my husband and me) are not skilled enough to involve so big quantity of people, we need. Thank you for any answer.

    Dear Thomas,

How are you? I was attending your exciting talk about Internet distribution yesterday in Utrecht. I’m an Independent filmmaker, who made two low-budget documentaries on Irish traditional music. They were shown in festivals in Dublin,New York and London a.o. and got good reviews. See my site http://www.free-spirits-film.eu for trailers. The only thing is the films are a couple of years old, is that a problem? You mentioned createspace.com and distribber.com
    Which one do you recommend?

    Best wishes,Jaap Mees

    Hey Jaap

Thanks for your comment and question. I dont think there is a problem with a film being “old” but it requires you make it available so A) the audience can find it legaly and B) you can direct audience to buy there film. Both createspace.com and distribber.com are great but they are a little different. Createspace.com is run by Amazon and anybody can open an account and sell their film through them. Distribber.com is a site that can help you with Amazon, iTunes and Netflix. As a film maker you cant communicate directly with iTunes and Netflix, therefore by paying a fee to distribber.com they can make your film available on those sites and you keep all the rights. I hope that answers the question
